Everything to know about Kimpton’s latest social password

In-the-know hotel guests can score souvenir mugs, free credits and more at Kimpton properties around the world with the hotel group’s latest secret social password.

The global promotion is back now through Feb. 28, 2026, the hotel group shared with TPG. And all guests have to do is whisper “The Life of a Kimpton Guest” during check-in to walk away with some sweet surprise treats.

“Consider it our invitation to experience the unexpected, because every stay should feel like it was made for you,” Kimpton wrote in an Instagram post Monday celebrating the promotion.

Gifts range from property to property, and the hotel group couldn’t say exactly what guests would get this time around, but past gifts have included items like Pendleton Woolen Mills socks at the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel in Portland, Oregon; a vintage-style mug with hot chocolate fixings and Cutler’s Artisan Spirits at the Kimpton Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara, California; and a “winter wheel” at the Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa, which guests could spin to win things like resort credits or in-room movie and popcorn credits.

The hotel group told TPG each hotel’s gifts typically feature a tie-in to the destination.

In addition to the secret password, IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite and Diamond Elite members can “Raid the Bar,” earning a $10 credit or $20 credit, respectively, to spend at either the restaurant bar or the in-room minibar.

In general, Kimpton properties offer signature amenities like nightly hosted social hours, in-room yoga mats and the company’s “Forgot It? We’ve Got It” program with essentials like chargers, hair ties, sewing kits and more.

The new secret password comes amid IHG’s cyber sale, offering 25% off IHG properties around the world. Travelers can save up to 25% at participating properties when they book by Dec. 4, 2025, for stays through March 31, 2026.
