Erykah Badu & The Alchemist share two songs off long-awaited collab LP

Erykah Badu confirmed in March that her long-awaited new album will be a collaboration with The Alchemist, and now the pair have shared their first new songs together, “Next To You” and “Echos 19 (mix 122).” Erykah debuted the latter during a Juneteenth concert that she livestreamed via Amazon Music, and a stream of that one is now exclusively streaming on Amazon.” “Next To You” is streaming everywhere now.

“Next To You” is a dose of gooey, psychedelic neo-soul that samples Mobb Deep’s “The Realest,” while “Echos 19 (mix 122)” is on the more hazy, atmospheric side. Both find Erykah and Alchemist sounding like a perfect pair, and needless to say, we’re excited to hear more. Listen to “Next To You” below.
