Nintendo Switch 2 owners are going to have to wait even longer before they can play Elden Ring.
Before the Switch 2 had even launched, it was confirmed a number of blockbuster titles would finally be made available to Nintendo owners including Borderlands 4, an upgraded version of Hogwarts Legacy and a special Tarnished edition of Elden Ring,
“With over 28 million copies sold worldwide, Elden Ring is an award-winning, action RPG set in an authentic dark fantasy world. Explore treacherous dungeons and face epic boss battles. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition includes the original game, the expansion Shadow Of The Erdtree, a new armor and customisation features for Torrent’s appearance,” reads an official description of the Switch 2 exclusive.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition had been due to launch at some point this year but has now been delayed to 2026. “While development on Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition continues wholeheartedly toward release, we have decided to move the launch to 2026 to allow time for performance adjustments,” said developers FromSoftware in a statement. “We apologise to players looking forward to the game and thank you for your patience and support.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 was struggling to run a demo version of Elden Ring.
2026 will also see the arrival of FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive multiplayer game has been inspired by vampire legends and takes place across ” more traditional Gothic or Victorian-style maps, as well as those depicting the closing years of the early modern period,” according to creator Hidetaka Miyazaki.
“Regardless of whether it’s PvP or PvE, the idea is to provide players with an experience that allows them to learn and hone their skills as they play,” Miyazaki added (via IGN). “We’ve therefore designed the PvE boss encounters to present a tough challenge and a sense of accomplishment upon defeating them.”
In other news, Fallout star Ella Purnell has described the upcoming second season of the show as a “buddy road trip”.
