Deal agreed: United convince 6’2″ sensation to leave boyhood club for Old Trafford move

Manchester United have kept just one clean sheet all season but their first-team goalkeeping situation appears far more stable than it was six months ago.

The erratic Andre Onana has been shipped out to Trabzonspor on loan until the end of the season. Meanwhile, Senne Lammens has established himself as Ruben Amorim’s number one.

There is room to improve but the 23-year-old Belgian has brought much-needed calmness at the back. The £18m signing has also impressed with his shot-stopping. As such, United might not need to make a major first-team addition in that department for a long time.

However, the club’s hierarchy remain keen on strengthening their youth setup. Accordingly, they have secured the services of a highly-rated English goalkeeper.

United have announced the signing of Charlie Hardy from Championship outfit Derby County.

The 16-year-old Englishman agreed to join the Red Devils earlier this year.

The move has now been finalised following approval from the Premier League. It is believed United will pay compensation for the young goalkeeper’s services.

The 6ft 2in England youth international have won five caps at Under-16s level for his country.

Hardy took to Instagram to confirm the switch, stating: “Proud to sign for Manchester United, the hard work continues.”

The Premier League giants are also keen on adding firepower to their academy’s attack.

Earlier today, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are locking horns with Real Madrid and Chelsea for the signature of Burkina Faso wonderkid Mohamed Zongo.

Zongo has drawn comparisons to Kylian Mbappe after impressing with his athleticism at the recent U17 World Cup.
