Days of Our Lives: Cat Recruits Mark to Betray EJ – Sinister Scheme Exposed?!

Days of Our Lives gives Dr. Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) back in Salem after a stint in Statesville prison. And he just applied for a job with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), who is also the boss of his sister, Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord). So, will Mark get a job at the hospital if Cat is able to talk him into spying for her?

We know that she and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are eager to dig up dirt that Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) and the ISA want, but so far they haven’t really struck gold.

So, fresh out of prison for plotting to kill Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Mark is desperate for a job. He went to the brother of the guy he tried to kill. He asked EJ for a job doing research or working in a lab because Mark has lost his medical license. It looks like EJ is actually going to give Marke a job at his secret lab hidden behind the soon-to-be-open Dr. Tom Horton (Zach Chyz) Free Clinic at University Hospital.

Days of Our Lives: ISA Investigation Heats Up: Can Mark Greene Be Their Inside Man?

What Mark doesn’t know, though, is that his sister Cat has been working for the ISA and they are specifically targeting EJ. If you’re current on episodes, you know that Cat and Rafe are investigating EJ on Shane’s orders to find out who helped him finance the purchase of the financially unstable medical facility and why EJ even wanted to buy the hospital.

I’m sure Cat will be happy that Mark got a job at all. But finding out that he’s going to be working in the sketchy clinic, well, that could be great for Cat. We know that she, Rafe. And Shane all expect that EJ’s up to no good and that this clinic is at the heart of it. But they’ve got no proof. But Cat’s brother, Mark, could be their inside man. He could give them the inside scoop on EJ’s secret science scheme, who’s providing the money, and what all is going on.

From Prison to Pawns: Mark Greene’s Desperate Bid for Redemption on DOOL

Despite Jennifer Horton (Cady McClain) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) writing the parole board and trying to block Mark’s release, it didn’t work. Now, former physician Mark is on the loose and he’s back in Salem. He’s reunited with his sisters Cat and Felicity Greene (Kennedy Garcia) and his brother Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo), who may be a daddy now.

Marke has insisted that he wouldn’t have gone through with killing Chad. He’s very remorseful that he and Cat got caught up in Clyde Weston’s (James Read) evil plans. The thing is, Mark really felt like he had no other choice. But to follow the plan or Clyde would have killed his mom, Catharina Meleounis (Ellie Patrikios).

So, even though Mark is out on parole and he’s got his freedom, he cannot practice medicine unless and until he gets his license back. However, Cat encouraged Mark to go ahead and submit a resume and talk to EJ about some kind of job at the hospital. But I don’t think Cat was expecting this specific job.

A Deal with the Devil? EJ DiMera’s Secret Lab Hires a New Recruit on Days of Our Lives

Mark came in to talk to him and at first, EJ resisted. Why hire Mark, the guy who was going after Chad on Clyde’s orders, especially since EJ hates Clyde and he loves his brother Chad? However, once EJ heard that Mark loves working in a lab and doing research, he was all ears. It was all about his agenda. EJ told Mark that he could have the job if he could follow directions without asking questions and if Mark would sign an NDA agreement.

Of course, Mark was a little hesitant but then EJ reassured him it’s privately funded research. So the parolee doctor took the job. Now, I can’t wait to see Cat’s reaction when her brother Mark tells her that he got a job at the new lab. Cat knows the secure room with the fancy keypad lock is not just some medicine closet like EJ claims because Cat went down and she was snapping photos on Days of our Lives.

Leo Stark’s Shocking Discovery: Another Threat to EJ’s Secret Plans

This secret new space in the hospital has piqued Leo Stark‘s (Greg Rikaart) interest. Also, if you recall, he recently rescued his former bestie, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), when she was trapped there during the blackout. Leo was investigating a tip about the blackout outage and the source of it. That’s when he found Gwen freaking out because she was locked in the room with the power off. The electronic lock wouldn’t work.

So Leo chopped through the drywall and was able to rescue Gwenny. And now, of course, Leo is itching to know what’s going on in there, too. Unfortunately, Rita, the henchwoman who’s EJ’s right hand, just caught Leo snooping down there. EJ told Rita they need to deal with Leo ASAP. That could mean a lot of different things to EJ. We might see Leo kidnapped and used as a guinea pig for one of EJ’s new secret experiments in his new secret lab.

Dr. Rolf’s Potential Return and a Twisted New Romance in Salem on Days of Our Lives

I do hope that Mark will be working directly for Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) in this sketchy new lab. I do hope he’s coming back. The man is brilliant and it’s always fun to see Rolf in scenes. I know fans like seeing the DiMera mad scientist. And speaking of Rolf, I think it’d be a hoot if he and Rita started vibing. They’re both devoted to EJ and the DiMeras. They’re both pretty wicked. They seem to not have a conscience and they could see eye to eye on a lot of things.

I think they could have a freaky little fling that might be a fun little side plot. So, if we see Mark working with Rolf, I’m totally here for it. And I almost forgot, we still need to find out what’s going on with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and this possible new Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and if that plays into whatever EJ is scheming to do down in that lab. Is he doing something with dear old dad’s brain or consciousness or something weird like what Rolf has done before?

The Ultimate Gamble on DOOL: Will Mark Spy on EJ to Win His Freedom?

The Horton Free Clinic opens its doors in November for the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives with lots of guest stars coming in. That’s right around the corner. Meanwhile, Cat and Rafe are still trying to figure out what EJ has up his sleeve. They now know that Gwen was down there checking out the construction zone. So Cat and Rafe are watching Gwen, but they can’t get too close.

But Mark is another matter since he just scored a job in the new lab. We’ll see if EJ has hired Mark on a trial basis and he only gets involved with the more nefarious stuff once EJ knows he can trust him, or maybe he’ll hit the ground running as part of the nefarious plot. I do think if Cat talks Shane into offering Mark a sweetheart deal, he will take the risk of spying and they might be able to expose and nail EJ.
