This week, country singer Joshua Ray Walker will release his second album of 2025 (and second since successfully undergoing chemotherapy), Stuff. While his recently-released Tropicana was a self-proclaimed “beach country” album that captured the escapism Joshua sought during the darkest moments of his journey with cancer, Stuff captures the more contemplative side, and it finds him taking clear influence from indie music.
Given the style of the new album, we asked Joshua to tell us about five of his favorite indie albums, and he put together a list that covers a lot of musical ground underneath the indie umbrella. He had a lot of interesting things to say about how each of his picks impacted him personally, as you can see and hear for yourself by watching him discuss the list on video below.
