Commitment, the Philly hardcore band that’s fronted by Tati Salazar (Le Siren) and also features Soul Glo vocalist Pierce Jordan on drums, Jake Smith of Eye Flys on guitar, and Zach Bailey on bass, recently signed to Get Better Records and released the new single “Hellraiser” and now they announced their debut album. Titled Fear Of, it arrives April 3 via Get Better and features “Hellraiser” as well as the just-released “Dog Pound.”
“Simply put ‘Dog Pound’ is about revenge,” says Tati. “It’s me giving myself permission to divulge in my violent fantasies towards men that deserve such treatment. I’ve been sexualized and harassed by men since I was a literal child. I personally would love to see a world where the people subjected to the violence and fear of men match that energy and reflect it back to them. This song is for fans of Aileen Wuornos, “good for her” horror films and anyone that’s ready to bite back.”
All that rage is bottled up into less than two minutes of hardcore fury, and the song comes with a grainy video that plays off the themes as well. Check it out below.
