CL giants rule themselves out of the race for United superstar, fans will breathe a sigh of relief – report

A pivotal summer window awaits Manchester United with another revamp on the cards.

The midfield is expected to bear a whole new look, with Casemiro already announcing his departure, while INEOS are keen to get rid of Manuel Ugarte.

Given Mason Mount’s injury record, it would not be a surprise to see the Englishman sold as well.

One player the fans do not want to lose is Bruno Fernandes, who had come close to being offloaded to Saudi Arabia last summer.

Bruno Fernandes future up in the air

The club’s stance did not please the skipper, who is attracting interest from within Europe this season.

As relayed by The Peoples Person, the Portugal international has already informed the co-owners that he will leave should Michael Carrick not get the permanent head coach’s role.

Bayern Munich are ready to pounce, with the Red Devils open to a sale for around £87 million.

However, as revealed by journalist Christian Falk, the Bavarian giants do not have the requisite funds to match United’s valuation, nor can they afford the attacking midfielder’s wages.

Bayern exit the race

“The Red Devils could reportedly demand a fee of around £87m for Fernandes, but Bayern have no interest in paying anywhere close to that figure.

“Bayern, moreover, have taken cost-cutting measures and they want to reduce the wage bill of the team. In such a scenario, they cannot afford to meet around 20m Euros per year minimum for Fernandes.”

The fanbase would have been up in arms if Bruno Fernandes was sold, given he remains the club’s best player by a country mile.

This season, the 31-year-old has six goals and 13 assists, including 12 in the Premier League, the highest in the division.
