Wet Leg are back with a new single called ‘Davina McCall’. Check it out below.

The song marks the third preview of the group’s upcoming second album, ‘moisturizer’. It is set for release on July 11 and has already seen the release of thunderous lead single ‘Catch These Fists’ and the electric follow-up, ‘CPR’.

For the latest single, the group take on more of a soft approach – delivering a lovelorn ballad that talks about pure, unadulterated devotion, as well as capturing a slight tongue-in-cheek aspect.

“Dream about us taking holidays together/ We won’t even care if we get shitty weather/ Oh, ’cause you’re like the sun,” singer Rhian Teasdale sings.

“Days turn to months and months into years/ We’re growing with the pain, we dry each other’s tears/ You know, you’re my sweet baby angel.

The new single also comes with an accompanying music video, directed by Chris Hopewell. It comes as a charming stop-motion animation, which sees the band as clay figures, cruising along and seeking out a feather-stealing goblin.

The song began with a melody written by guitarist Hester Chambers, which was later developed by bassist Ellis Durand. It was then completed with the lyrics and vocal melody from Teasdale.

“Ellis and I were on the edge of our seats being like, ‘We’re gonna get this, we’re completing the puzzle’” Chambers said of the writing process. Check it out above.

Wet Leg first started previewing new material back in March when they played a tiny gig in Brighton. These included the live debut of  ‘Jen Bod’, ‘Dave Nah’ and ‘Lovestruck’.

‘Moisturizer’ is out on July 11 on various formats including a limited edition 3D gatefold cream coloured vinyl with a signed photo, picture disc vinyl, standard vinyl, cassette, CD and digitally. You can pre-order/pre-save the record here.

Later this summer, the group are set to perform at a handful of festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, Shaky Knees Festival, Roskilde Festival, Wilderness Festival, TRNSMT 2025, Boardmasters, All Together Now and Øya Festival. Visit here for tickets.

Back in 2022, their self-titled debut was given a glowing five-star review from NME, with Rhian Daly writing: “Wet Leg began life while Teasdale and Chambers were riding a Ferris wheel at a festival, where the pair decided to give music another chance; fittingly, their debut album feels like a giddy race around a funfair, those pesky lows batted away with wit and wisecracks like a game of verbal whack-a-mole.”
