Chase Freedom Flex cardholders: Earn bonus cash back with this straightforward promotion

If you’re a Chase Freedom Flex® (see rates and fees) cardholder, now’s the time to start swiping.

That’s because cardholders can earn up to an additional 1% on purchases after reaching a spending threshold from now through Nov. 30 — perfect timing for early holiday spending.

These bonuses are earned on top of the Freedom Flex’s 5% quarterly bonus categories (activation required), as well as its ongoing bonuses on purchases made through Chase Travel℠ (5%) and dining and drugstores (3%).

Here’s how to receive bonus rewards from your Freedom Flex this fall.

Earn bonus cash-back rewards with the Freedom Flex

These Freedom Flex promotions do not require activation, so they will automatically kick in once you reach the required spending thresholds.

  • Earn an additional 0.5% cash back for each dollar of your next $2,500 in purchases after spending $1,000 from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
  • Earn an additional 1% cash back for each dollar of your next $2,500 in purchases after spending $4,000 from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.

Note that TPG staffers with other Freedom cards, including the Chase Freedom Unlimited® (see rates and fees), did not receive notice of this promotion.

Chase did not immediately respond to TPG’s request for clarification.

To be eligible for the bonus, your purchases must post to your account with a transaction date during the offer period.

Combine your cash-back rewards with Chase Ultimate Rewards cards

Even though the Freedom Flex earns cash back, you can convert that to fully transferable Chase Ultimate Rewards points with an eligible card:

The information for the Ink Business Preferred has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Choosing to combine your rewards could make this promotion even more valuable. TPG’s September 2025 valuations place Chase points at a value of 2.05 cents apiece. Topping off your account with this bonus could get you one step closer to a fabulous travel redemption.

Bottom line

This new Freedom Flex offer is relatively simple to maximize, as it requires nothing but reaching a spending requirement to earn extra rewards.

With the busy holiday shopping season just around the corner, this new offer could make swiping (or tapping) the Freedom Flex a solid option in the coming months.
