Blackbraid releasing new EP this week – check out the new song & killer live-footage video

Adirondacks-based indigenous black metal act Blackbraid recently released one of the best metal albums of 2025 with Blackbraid III, and now he has just announced a new EP, Nocturnal Womb, that’s out this Friday (3/6). It features two new songs that a press release says were “too dark and visceral to fit the story of Blackbraid III,” as well as an acoustic version of the Blackbraid II song “Barefoot Ghost Dance on Blood Soaked Soil.” One of the two new songs is out now, “Celestial Bloodlust,” and it’s a complete and utter black metal rager that comes with a video filmed at a recent Stockholm show that gives you an up-close-and-personal look at how intense Blackbraid’s live show is. Earlier this year, the person behind Blackbraid also released a two-song EP under the moniker Petrichor called Seduced By Conquering Darkness, and in case you haven’t heard that yet, you can stream that below too.
