City Winery founder and CEO Michael Dorf has announced his 21st annual “The Music Of” benefit concert. It happens on March 12 at Carnegie Hall, and the 2026 edition will celebrate Billy Joel‘s music. The lineup will feature 20 to-be-announced artists, and 100% of net proceeds go to music education programs for underserved youth. VIP tickets and packages are on sale now, and general admission tickets will go on sale Tuesday, November 4.
Patti Smith was the honoree at this year’s “The Music Of” show, with performers including Bruce Springsteen, Karen O, Michael Stipe, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, Interpol’s Paul Banks, Kim Gordon, Jesse Malin, Glen Hansard, and more. See pictures and videos from that here.
Previous years have celebrated Crosby, Stills & Nash, Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin, Aretha Franklin, David Bowie, The Talking Heads, and more.
Joel cancelled all his shows this year after being diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain disorder. A two-part documentary on him, And So It Goes, began streaming on HBO Max this summer, and he’s released a musical companion featuring demos, outtakes, live tracks, and other previously unreleased rarities.
