ASU News: McCain Library and Museum breaks ground in Tempe

McCain library at ASU to blend history, civics in a living landmark | ASU News | January 30, 2026

Speaking to a crowd of approximately 150 people at the the official groundbreaking for the John S. McCain III Library and Museum, ASU President Michael Crow reflected on the man at the center of it all: “When John McCain walked into a room, you understood immediately that democracy was not an abstract idea to him. It was a responsibility, and it was personal.” Inspired by the extraordinary life and legacy of the late senator, the library and museum programming will cultivate a next generation of leaders prepared to boldly address the most pressing issues of our time.
