Article 5: Trump reopens debate on NATO’s mutual defence pledge

NATO leaders on Wednesday agreed to hike defence spending and expressed their “ironclad commitment” to come to each other’s aid if attacked, a day after US President Donald Trump appeared to cast doubt on the strength of the alliance’s core security guarantee, saying it had “numerous definitions”.
