Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Baja State Prosecutor’s Office in Tijuana Bombarded by Three Weaponized Cartel Drones | C/O Futures Cartel Research Note Series By Dr. Robert J. Bunker of SWJ
19 October 2025 (Revised)
During the early evening of Wednesday, 15 October 2025, the facility containing the anti- kidnapping unit of the Fiscalía General del Estado de Baja California (Attorney General’s Office of the State of Baja California) was attacked by multiple weaponized cartel drones. An aerial bombardment was conducted by three drones which dropped improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the parking lot of the facility over an indeterminate amount of time. Between four to six vehicles suffering damage from the attack have been reported, but no FGEBC personnel or other individuals were injured from the brazen incident which can be considered an act of narco terrorism. While not attributed, the likely perpetrator of the attack is the Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).

A Note from SWJ Staff: The increasing use of drones in support of criminal insurgencies is something that we must watch. We encourage practitioners and scholars to send us their essays and research on this topic.
