A complete guide to Capital One’s airport lounges: Everything to know in 2025

Editor’s note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

In a space once dominated by the American Express Centurion Lounge network, Chase and Capital One have been rapidly opening their own branded airport lounges.

Currently, there are five Capital One Lounges and one “Landing,” a unique dining concept.

The most recent lounge opened in mid-2025 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and the next location is slated to be a Landing at LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

Capital One has announced plans to change lounge access policies in early 2026. These changes will mostly negatively impact authorized users and guest access, making it significantly pricier to enjoy these spaces.

Here’s everything that we know about Capital One’s lounges, including who has access and what to expect inside.

Where are Capital One Lounges and Landings located?

Capital One operates lounges at:

It also has one Landing open at:

Beyond these, one other Capital One Landing location is in the pipeline, at LGA.

Capital One is serious about its lounge ambitions, so we expect more announcements. We’ll update this list and expected opening dates as more lounge locations become known.

Who has access to Capital One Lounges?

The $395-per-year Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is the primary way most travelers can access a Capital One Lounge.

Given the changes coming for authorized user and guest access, being a primary Venture X cardholder will become the most practical way to access airport lounges.

Starting Feb. 1, 2026, the Venture X will no longer provide complimentary lounge access to authorized users. Primary cardholders will have the option to pay $125 annually for each authorized user to maintain access to all lounges included with the card (Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings and Priority Pass lounges).

The Venture X is also ending automatic complimentary guest access to Capital One lounges and Landings. Capital One is transitioning to a spending-based incentive to bring complimentary guests to these locations.

Also beginning Feb. 1, 2026, Capital One Lounge and Landing guests will have to pay $45 to enter the lounge with a primary Venture X cardholder. Those 17 and under can enter for $25. Fortunately, access for children under 2 will remain free.

However, if you spend at least $75,000 with your Venture X in a calendar year, you’ll earn back the ability to bring up to two complimentary guests to Capital One Lounges and one guest to a Capital One Landing. This spending requirement will be based on transactions made throughout 2025.

These changes are fairly restrictive compared to the former policy and represent a shift from Capital One’s past generosity toward lounge access.

Beginning Feb. 1, 2026, Capital One Venture X Business cardholders can expect the same $125 fee to kick in for authorized users to gain unlimited access to Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings and Priority Pass lounges. Currently, Venture X Business authorized users do not have lounge access, so this upcoming option to add it is a positive change for cardholders.

Venture X Business cardholders will also lose complimentary guest access to Capital One Lounges and Landings on Feb. 1, 2026. Cardholders will be charged $45 per additional guest or $25 if their guest is under 17 years old. As with the Venture X, access for children under 2 will remain free for Venture X Business cardholders.

The same $75,000 total spending requirement will allow two complimentary guests at Capital One Lounges and one complimentary guest at a Capital One Landing, which mirrors the incentive on the personal Venture X.

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business cardholders and their guests can access these lounges at a special entry rate of $45 per person.

Starting June 3, those who hold the Venture X, Venture X Business, Venture Rewards or Spark Miles for Business can purchase passes for guests under 18 for $25.

Finally, Capital One lounges are also open to any travelers outside those groups who want to pay a steeper entry rate of $90 per person.

Other rules

All Capital One Lounge visitors must present a boarding pass for a departing flight. This includes access up to three hours before departing or connecting same-day flights. Guests can’t enter with boarding passes for arriving flights that don’t have an onward connection.

New York City Capital One Lounge (JFK)

Capital One’s latest lounge opened in June at New York’s JFK International Airport. It’s the first 24/7 lounge in the credit card-branded space and Capital One’s largest to date.

The lounge is in Terminal 4, a competitive area for credit card lounges, just past security.

Highlights inside include an all-day cold buffet near the dining area and a menu for made-to-order hot dishes. Tables in the lounge feature QR codes to open the a la carte menu of hot food.

You’ll also be able to order from a new bagel counter that offers fresh Ess-a-Bagel food that you can eat in the lounge or take on the go.

Capital One also partnered with New York’s Murray’s Cheese to offer a cheesemonger station at the end of the dining buffet, which features a rotating selection of 10 specialty cheeses, served with wines and meats.

The lounge also features a signature bar with more than 15 curated cocktails.

The lounge doesn’t feature gyms or sleep pods, but it does provide two private rooms (first-come, first-served in 45-minute increments). There are seven all-gender restrooms, a parents’ room and a bathroom that doubles as a shower suite.

Capital One’s new lounge at JFK is also a great place to charge your devices, with multiple power outlets and USB-C ports near seats, as well as fast and free Wi-Fi, with the password conveniently displayed next to the QR code at each table.

Las Vegas Capital One Lounge (LAS)

Capital One opened its fourth lounge in Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in February.

It’s in the main area of Terminal 3, Concourse D, on Level 2 near Gate 50. It’s open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Inside, you’ll find grab-and-go offerings as well as the small plates, craft cocktails and locally roasted coffee we’ve come to expect from Capital One Lounges. And the lounge has its own version of the perfect airport beer: the Lady Luck from Las Vegas Brewing Co.

Additionally, the space offers six private gender-neutral restrooms fully equipped with changing tables. It also has one relaxation room and two private work rooms available by reservation.

Don’t miss the unique daily rituals offered in this lounge. Throughout the day, different beverage cart services are available: Italian-style shaken espresso in the morning, tea and pastries in the afternoon, and sparkling wine at sunset to accompany the space’s impressive views.

But all that glitters isn’t gold, and this lounge lacks some of the perks we’ve come to love in other locations; you won’t find showers, workout spaces or luggage lockers at this location.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Capital One Landing (DCA)

Capital One expanded its offerings with the first Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) in November 2024.

It’s in DCA’s Terminal 2 near Concourse D, closest to American Airlines’ gates but a short walk away from gates used by other airlines in the terminal, given the airport’s smaller size.

While not explicitly a lounge, the Capital One Landing focuses largely on delivering an elevated dining experience. It partners with the highly acclaimed José Andrés Group to curate each location’s food and beverage options. Remaining true to its culinary heritage, the Landing serves Spanish-style tapas.

The Capital One Landing is arranged in two parts, and you’ll need to leave one space by going out into the terminal and walking around the corner to visit the other space.

The Landing assigns guests to a table after check-in at the main lounge instead of allowing guests to pick and choose where they roam within the space. You’ll receive food from Andrés, including a tasty tapas menu that is served quickly, as well as the option for specialty beverages.

It’s part of a unique partnership between Andrés and Capital One, the restaurateur’s first venture into airport dining.

The second quick-service space, On the Fly, is an a la carte cafe that serves all travelers (not just those with access to the lounge). Cardholders get a 50% discount on all food and drinks, but otherwise, it’s largely your typical airport grab-and-go experience.

You won’t find showers, relaxation areas or private conference rooms at the Capital One Landing since the area caters to the stop-and-go passengers that typically fly domestically out of DCA.

Denver Capital One Lounge (DEN)

Capital One opened its third lounge in Denver International Airport (DEN) in November 2023.

Located in Concourse A, it’s convenient for those flying Frontier Airlines, Delta Air Lines and most international carriers, but passengers flying out of Concourse B and C need to take an underground train to access it.

Lounge guests have their choice of bespoke cocktails, but don’t miss the Denver location’s signature airport beer: the Sky High P.A.

The lounge also offers food and beverage options consistent with what we’ve come to expect from Capital One: a selection of grab-and-go items at the front of the lounge for those passing through, as well as individual servings of heavier bites for those who have a bit more time.

Additionally, the lounge has two showers, two relaxation rooms, three private workrooms (available with a reservation) and a parents’ room.

It’s conveniently located just past the TSA PreCheck security lines.

Inside, visitors can take advantage of multiple grab-and-go snack and drink options if they need to get to their gate quickly. Those with more time can find a spot in the open-concept space to settle in, where they can choose from a wide range of single-serve food options and a bar with some eye-catching drinks.

Elements of the local culture are evident throughout, from a nod to the nation’s capital in some art pieces to the cherry blossom margarita and locally roasted coffee available.

Dallas-Fort Worth Capital One Lounge (DFW)

Capital One hit American Express’ Centurion Lounge head-on with its approximately 10,000-square-foot Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) location in Terminal D, near Gate 22. In fact, it’s in the very same terminal, just steps from the Amex lounge.

Capital One’s DFW lounge honors the Dallas-Fort Worth region in its design and guest experience, including partnerships with area artists, breweries, coffee roasters and cocktail bars.

In creating this first lounge, Capital One focused on eco-friendly materials, unique textures and eye-catching effects like curved surfaces.

More than 55 pieces of original artwork by local artists curated by the Tappan Collective and a wide array of original works are on display, featuring diverse perspectives and mediums, giving travelers “an opportunity to experience the region through its art.”

New York City Capital One Landing (LGA)

Capital One plans to open a second Landing, this time at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), in late 2025. This unique facility will debut in Terminal B.

We’ll update this guide when we receive more details.

What are the food and beverages like at Capital One Lounges?

Capital One lounges offer a premium in-lounge dining experience with seasonal menus and regionally sourced ingredients.

During our visits, the dishes we’ve sampled have been quite top-notch. One standout has been a beef bibimbap bowl that perfectly balances spicy and sweet.

Speaking of sweetness, the cannolis we’ve tasted have been deliciously crisp on the outside and sweet and decadent on the inside.

A ready-to-eat food station features grab-and-go snacks, including salads, fresh fruits, juice shots and rotating warm selections like breakfast sandwiches in the mornings and fresh-from-the-oven cookies in the afternoons.

For those who have the opportunity to take a seat and relax before their flight, other catering highlights include craft cocktails, local beers and regional wines; dining stations (with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options); and a full-service coffee and espresso bar from La Colombe.

What wellness features are in Capital One Lounges?

Wellness is an important element in the Capital One lounge strategy.

In fact, the DFW location offers the option of getting a full workout before your flight, with Peloton bikes and a yoga room.

And if you have time for a nap during your layover, the DFW, DEN and LAS locations offer relaxation rooms with state-of-the-art nap pods and other amenities such as blankets and eye masks.

Additionally, the DFW, IAD and DEN locations have private nursing rooms outfitted with lounge chairs, footrests, bottle warmers, minifridges with beverages, and extra counter space for diaper changes.

The LAS location also offers beverage add-ons in the form of powdered drink mix-ins supporting relaxation or energy, depending on your mood. These are included in some of the lounge’s craft cocktails, but guests can request an add-on with any drink they order.

Capital One Lounges vs. Amex Centurion Lounges

American Express transformed the lounge landscape by launching its first Centurion Lounge in 2013. Since then, Amex has opened more than 25 lounges in the U.S. and across the globe.

Now, Capital One is also playing in this space. From what we’ve seen so far, Amex appears to have stiff competition in amenities, food and drink offerings.

American Express Centurion Lounge Atlanta ATL
ZACH GRIFF/THE POINTS GUY

An obvious difference between Capital One Lounges and Amex Centurion Lounges is the sheer number of locations. There are many more Centurion Lounges in the U.S., and Capital One has yet to open a lounge outside of the U.S.

Amex doesn’t offer complimentary access for guests over 2 years old, and most Centurion Lounges charge $50 for a guest over 18 and $30 for a guest under 18. Some locations operate with different guest policies, so that’s important to keep in mind.

If you hold The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and spend $75,000 or more on eligible purchases with the card in a calendar year, you can earn complimentary guest access for two guests per cardmember visit for the rest of the calendar year, plus 13 additional months.

Capital One’s upcoming changes to lounge guest access make its policy more similar to Amex’s restrictions.

Plus, the addition of its smaller Landing concept offers even more variety to cardholders.

However, keep in mind that Capital One is about to change how many people receive complimentary airport access with its Venture X and Venture X Business cards.
