LA sets curfew as Trump stokes fears of ‘foreign invasion’ amid escalating protests

Mayor Karen Bass on Tuesday declared a nighttime curfew in Los Angeles to reign in protests against immigration enforcement raids which Donald Trump called a “foreign invasion” of the US. Hours earlier, California Governor Gavin Newson took legal action against Trump’s mobilization of National Guardsmen and Marines to quell the protests.
