Aldous Harding has announced her fifth studio album, Train on the Island, which will be out May 8 via 4AD. She made it with frequent collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales and it features pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llewelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and multi-instrumentalist Huw Evans (H. Hawkline).
The first single from the album is “Last Stop,” which begins as a kind of piano ballad but builds up to a nice groove. Watch the video, directed by Michelle Henning, below.
Aldous will be on tour in North America in in late summer and early fall and has added new California shows in Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. The NYC stop is at Brooklyn Steel on September 12 and all dates are listed below.
