Nine Inch Nails did the score for last year’s TRON:Ares — the best thing about the movie to be honest — and they’ve now released a companion album that they dropped with no warning on streaming services today with no official announcement or acknowledgement yet from NIN themselves.
It’s titled TRON:Ares Divergence, with two “discs”: the first is a remix album featuring Boys Noize, Arca, Danny L Harle, Chilly Gonzales, Meat Beat Manifesto‘s Jack Dangers, Lanark Artefax, Pixel Grip, Working Men’s Club, The Dare, and Schwefelgelb.
The second disc appears just to be the original score/soundtrack. Dig in below.
Boys Noize remix three tracks for Divergence, but not “Alive As You Need Me To Be,” which has been one of the highlights of the “Nine Inch Noize” collab portion of NIN’s awesome Peel It Back tour. That hit NJ’s Prudential Center on Valentine’s Day; check out video below.
We’re going to get a full Nine Inch Noise set at Coachella this year and we keep hoping the Boys Noize collabs they’ve been doing on tour will get an official release.
Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize play Tulsa tonight (2/27) and all dates are here.
You may also remember that Boys Noize did an awesome megamix of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ score for Challengers.
