France sentences Iranian woman to one year in prison for justifying terrorism

A French court on Thursday sentenced an Iranian woman, Mahdieh Esfandiari, to one year in prison on charges of justifying terrorism in a move that observers believe could spur Paris’ negotiations with Tehran for the release of French nationals Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who are detained in Iran.
