French President Macron accepts the resignation of Louvre director Laurence des Cars

The head of Paris’s Louvre museum Laurence des Cars on Tuesday handed in her resignation to French President Emmanuel Macron, who accepted it, hailing it as an “act of responsibility”. The museum, shaken by a high-profile heist last October, is in need of a “new impetus”, Macron’s office said.
