France’s annual agricultural show gets underway in Paris

The annual Paris agricultural show has gotten off to a rocky start this year, with the absence of cows for the first time in its history, following the outbreak of lumpy skin disease in 2025. But they’re not the only ones missing, two major farmer unions have boycotted the traditional unions’ meeting with President Macron, in protest over unstable incomes and the controversial EU-Mercorsur trade deal, which has pushed the farmers to a breaking point.
