‘Massive use of detention’: Rights groups warn ICE-style policing could come to Europe

Proposed immigration legislation at the EU level has seen dozens of rights groups sound the alarm, warning that US style ICE immigration enforcement could be about to be set up on the continent. Speaking to France 24, Michele Levoy, director of Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, said one of the main concerns is that it could lead the deportation of migrants, including children, to detention centres in third countries.
