Hear Jeff Tweedy cover Cameron Winter’s “Love Takes Miles”

Jeff Tweedy and his Twilight Override band are on tour in Europe now, and for Valentine’s Day (which he spent in Paris), Tweedy dedicated a cover of Cameron Winter‘s Heavy Metal track “Love Takes Miles” to his wife, Susie. You can hear it on his Substack.

The song “seems very true to me about how love kind of actually works, in my opinion,” Tweedy says in an accompanying voice note. “[The] immediate feeling of love — I think you fall in love over and over and over again. But the real love takes a lot of miles, a lot of time. That’s the kind of love that makes ground harder under your feet and colors stronger, and it’s just, it’s not the same thing as puppy love. It’s love that creates families, makes a family, maybe. Maybe that’s it.”

Tweedy the band covered Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” on the first night of the tour, in Madrid last week. See all their upcoming dates below.
