We’ve been anticipating a new album from Courtney Barnett, and she’s now announced her fourth LP, Creature of Habit, due out March 27 via Mom+Pop. See the cover art and tracklist below.
The album includes her recent single “Stay In Your Lane,” and she’s shared a new single, “Site Unseen,” which features harmonies from Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee. “I tried 3 separate times over 2 years to track this song, and each time it either wasn’t finished or didn’t sound right and each time we had to start again,” Courtney says. “I kept hearing this really high harmony in my head, so for the fourth and final version, I asked Katie if she’d be into singing it with me. I’m a big Waxahatchee fan. I really love Katie’s songwriting and her voice, so it was an honour to have her sing on ‘Site Unseen.’” Watch the video below.
Courtney also announced a North American tour, with one leg of shows in May and a second in August. Momma and Truman Sinclair will each join her on select May shows, and Built to Spill and Zoh Amba in August. See all dates below.
The NYC show is at Kings Theatre on May 9, with Momma and Truman Sinclair. Tickets to that and all dates go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 AM local, with an artist presale starting Wednesday, January 21 at 10 AM local.
