19 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MAXO KREAM – “FAKE JEEZY” (ft. DENZEL CURRY & JPEGMAFIA)

It’s Maxo Kream and Denzel Curry on the same song, over a beat by JPEGMAFIA. Of course it’s a banger.

CHARLI XCX – “WALL OF SOUND”

Charli XCX has given us another early taste of her anticipated Wuthering Heights soundtrack, the haunting, atmospheric “Wall of Sound.”

SLAYYYTER – “DANCE…”

Slayyyter announced a new album called Wor$t Girl In America, due March 27 via RECORDS/Columbia. Its opening track and new single “Dance…” kinda sounds like if late ’90s Madonna was produced by Justice. Pretty cool.

THE MOUNTAIN GOATS – “GOING TO FENNARIO”

The Mountain Goats released their first new music of 2026 as a tribute to the late Bob Weir. John Darnielle writes:

I’ve been writing songs whose titles start with “Going to…” for thirty years or so – it’s an informal series within our catalog, though I don’t do so many of them any more. Last year I was listening to multiple versions of the Dead’s “Peggy-O” (try the version from Cameron Indoor Stadium, Durham, NC, 4/12/78) and thinking about Fennario, also the land of “Dire Wolf,” and I thought I’d write a traditional style tune myself. I thought about how lucid and unsentimental traditional songs are about death and change – how folk songs present life as it is and let the feeling flow from there – and I wrote “Going to Fennario.”

I listen to the Grateful Dead all the time; their endless musical curiosity is a north star for anybody who seeks a life in music, plus anybody who tours in a rock band walks down paths cleared by the Dead. Their work means so much to me. We weren’t going to release any new music until later this year, but in honor of Bob Weir, who’s crossed over to the next life and leaves behind a musical legacy that will be treasured for as long as people listen to music, I wanted to put this out now, so here’s an early look at what we got up to last fall between tours. It’s got Mikaela Davis on harp, Rob Jost on bass, George Douglas on the hammered dulcimer — his son plays in the Mountain Goats — and then the usual suspects – me, Matt Douglas, and Jon Wurster – holding down the rest. You can pay what you like, believe it if you need it, or leave it if you dare; 100% of the proceeds on this single will go to the American Cancer Society.

Thanks, Bob Weir, for all those “Jack Straw”s that’re always right there when I need ’em. Your work lives on. Travel safely home.

LANDE HEKT – “LUCKY NOW”

Lande Hekt has shared the title track to her upcoming album Lucky Now. “Although I list some pretty specific things in this song, it is aimed to be a broad song about personal freedom and moving onto better things,” Lande says. “The specific landmarks I have listed refer to getting a touring visa denied right before a big tour, changing the direction of my then band’s career, a fire that burned down our local venue that I worked at and near enough lived at leading to a drinking problem and then getting sober!”

DISGUSTING SISTERS – “CALVIN KLEIN”

London and Paris-based sister duo Disgusting Sisters have shared their third single, the clubby “Calvin Klein.” “There’s two different kinds of guys in life – there’s either the guy who’s really nice but kind of boring, or the one who’s a complete arsehole with a huge ego but at least he’s fun,” they say. “Every time you’re with one, you want to be with the other but Calvin Klein is the perfect mix of the two.”

THE ALBUM LEAF – “FIGHT OR FLIGHT” FT AISHA BADRU

“This song was actually created back in 2021,” says The Album Leaf’s Jimmy LaValle of this new single. “I had written the original track during the ‘Future Falling’ sessions, and during that long stretch of COVID isolation, I began exploring collaborations on songs that had space for a vocalist. Nettwerk connected me with Aisha Badru, who wrote and recorded her vocals remotely. She brought a deeply internal, unguarded emotional weight to the track—capturing the anxiety of that time, the sense of movement driven by restlessness rather than freedom, and the feeling of trying to outrun something that keeps circling back. Even though we weren’t in the same room, her voice sits at the heart of the song, carrying both tension and vulnerability. James McAlister also contributed percussion remotely, giving the track a subtle human pulse beneath the haze. The entire song came together from a distance, which somehow made it feel even more intimate—living in that space between urgency and stillness.”

MAKTHAVERSKAN – “LOUIE”

Makthanverskan’s anticipated new album Glass and Bones arrives in April, and the latest single is the soaring, sparkling dream-pop track “Louie.” “The first demo for this song was made on my computer in a bus after a Makthaverskan gig many many years ago,” vocalist Maja Milner says. “Then Makthaverskan did their tour on it for this record and after that I finished the lyrics. The lyrics is a reminder from me to me that it’s important to breathe out. I often have the feeling that I only know how to breathe in and not out. Like the air gets stuck inside of me. I think that there is always beauty in front of you if you are open to see it. And I think it’s easier to see it if you know how to breathe properly.”

THE NUDE PARTY – “WALK THAT WALK”

The Nude Party’s first album in four years is out in February and here’s another glammy appetizer from it.

MOBY – “WHEN IT’S COLD I’D LIKE TO DIE” FT. JACOB LUSK

Moby announced his twenty third LP, Future Quiet, due out on February 20 via BMG. The first single is a new version of “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die” (as heard on Stranger Things) featuring Gabriels’ Jacob Lusk. “I first heard Jacob’s voice on KCRW when they started playing ‘Love and Hate in A Different Time’,” Moby says. “And, like anyone who’s heard Jacob sing, I immediately fell in love with his voice. After hearing him sing on the radio, I spent weeks tracking him down and begging him to work with me. And, lucky me, he agreed. The results speak for themselves, as his vocals on ‘When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die’ are, I say with something approaching objectivity, transcendent.”

IMMOLATION – “ADVERSARY”

NY death metal veterans Immolation have announced their new album Descent, and you can read about lead single “Adversary” here.

JOY OLADOKUN – “NOTHING COMES EASY”

Joy Oladokun has signed to Concord Records and shared her first new music of 2026. “I wrote ‘Nothing Comes Easy’ about how getting hurt can happen quickly but healing takes time,” she says. “This past year, I dealt with a lot of change in my personal life and career and for a moment it felt like nothing good would ever come again. In my backyard, there is a planter filled with the most resilient sunflowers I’ve ever seen. I wrote this song about watching them find life over and over again and how they taught me to celebrate good things because oftentimes they have fought hard to be good.”

NITE SPORTS – “SEVENTEEN”

Nite Sports is a new-ish NYC band with members of The Movielife, Incendiary, American Nightmare, Common Sage, and more, and you can read about their new song “Seventeen” here.

CHVRCHES – “ADDICTED TO LOVE” (ROBERT PALMER COVER)

CHVRCHES covered Robert Palmer’s 1985 classic “Addicted to Love” for the soundtrack to season 3 of Hulu’s Tell Me Lies.

DRAYTON FARLEY – “I’LL HOLD YOU,” “IT’S CALLED DOUBT” & “TURN AROUND”

Alabama country singer Drayton Farley has announced a new album, A Heavy Duty Heart, produced by Sadler Vaden of Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit. Three songs are out now, and you can read more about them here.

MITSKI – “WHERE’S MY PHONE”

Mitski announced a new album, Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, and shared the first single, which you can read more about here.

HOW MUCH ART – “XO”

How Much Art (members of Fiddlehead, Gel, etc) have released their second song, “XO,” and you can read about it here.
