Canada’s PM Carney, China’s Xi Jinping hold first Beijing talks in eight years

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met Xi Jinping in Beijing on Friday, the first leaders’ talks there in eight years. Carney hailed a “new strategic partnership” as Canada seeks to diversify trade after US tariffs imposed under President Donald Trump.
