New clashes between Syrian army and Kurdish forces erupt east of Aleppo

Clashes between Syrian government troops and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) erupted Tuesday in the Deir Hafer district of Aleppo province. It came days after the evacuation of SDF fighters from Aleppo’s Kurdish-majority Sheikh Maqsud and Achrafieh neighbourhoods. No casualties were immediately reported, but the clashes could mark an escalation of conflict in northern Syria.
