Air brought their dazzling Moon Safari tour back to North America for a second time, and that run, and the finale of the whole tour, ended in NYC with a three-night run at Brooklyn Paramount. I went to the first night (10/10) which was the third time I’ve seen the Moon Safari show — Oya Festival 2024 and Beacon Theatre were the others — and it was just as spectacular as the first.
The white box Jean-Benoît Dunckel, Nicolas Godin and drummer Louis Delorme play in is a such a magical bit of stage production, with a backdrop that can be mirrored, translucent or function as an LED screen, depending on the song. This show and Nine Inch Nails’ Peel It Back tour are like two sides of a coin, one white and one black, but both displaying the same level of perfection down to the smallest detail, from sound to the lighting and everything in between.
As much as I like Moon Safari, the second set where Air pull from the rest of their discography is even better, with the band showing off their Pink Floyd side and that white box doing even cooler stuff. Let’s hope this isn’t the last we’ve heard from Air, but it will be hard to top this particular show.

Air will officially bring down the curtain on Moon Safari with a show in Paris on December 5.
