Rufus Wainwright announces Cafe Carlyle residency; Martha Wainwright singing Laura Nyro at Joe’s Pub

There’s a lot going on in the world of the talented Wainwright family and much of it is happening in NYC. First up: Rufus Wainwright just announced a five-show holiday residency at Cafe Carlyle on December 9-13. He’s also got fall solo tour dates, hitting Philly, Fairfield, Boston, Atlanta, Nashville, and St Louis. All are listed below.

Meanwhile, Martha Wainwright will be at NYC’s Joe’s Pub on September 26-28 and November 21-23, where she’ll sing the songs of Laura Nyro. The shows will also feature Thomas Bartlett (Doveman) and woodwinds player Doug Wieselman, and here’s more on the performances:

Wainwright will interpret Laura Nyro’s songs inspired by Manhattan—in all the sweeping emotion, stirring poetry, and pioneering genre-defiance the city brought out in the infinitely wise-beyond-her-years artist when she was just coming into adulthood. Wainwright will also perform selections from her own body of work that resonate thematically with Nyro’s songs.

Martha also has tour dates celebrating the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album and all of her 2025/2026 dates are below.

But wait there’s more: Rufus and Martha are teaming up for one of their annual holiday benefit extravaganzas, and this year’s event is called Hooray for Hollydays and happens in Los Angeles on December 6 at the Saban Theatre. Rufus and Martha Wainwright are hosts of the show, and the night, which benefits Folk Cancer: The Kate McGarrigle Project, also features appearances by Lucy Dacus, Beck, relatives Loudon Wainwright III and Lucy Wainwright Roche, and more.
