Ratboys share “Light Night Mountains All That,” announce 2026 tour (BV Presale for NYC)

Ratboys released the fantastic The Window in 2023, one of our favorite albums of that year, and now they’ve shared their first new music since then, the new single “Light Night Mountains All That.” It’s their first release for their new label New West Records, and singer and guitarist Julia Steiner calls it a “wormhole jam,” saying, “My original idea was to write an ultra-high energy folk song, in the style of The Dodos’ Visiter, with somewhat spooky, mysterious, and pastoral lyrics – like what Chris Otepka of The Heligoats might conjure up on a mushroom trip. This song really took shape during our initial writing session up at the Driftless Cabin in Wisconsin last March; the guys and I nearly went insane fleshing out the arrangement and its odd timings together. I wrote the lyrics during that original demoing trip, centered around the idea of a fantastic, rural vision-quest where the days and nights blend together and nothing is quite as it seems.”

Drummer Marcus Nuccio directed the accompanying video, which you can watch below. “We used a bunch of DV cameras to convene with some benevolent rock and roll ghosts we met along the way,” Steiner says.

Ratboys have also announced a 2026 tour, beginning in Detroit on February 25 and wrapping up in Chicago on April 18. Fellow artist shaping the new indie-country boom Florry, villagerrr, and Free Range each open select shows, and you can see all dates below.

The NYC show is at Warsaw on March 5 with Florry. You can get tickets on BrooklynVegan Presale starting Wednesday, September 24 at 10 AM ET with the presale password BVRATBOYS. Any remaining tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 26 at 10 AM ET.
