Chinese officials hold talks in Spain, respond to Trump tariff threat

U.S. and Chinese officials began talks in Madrid on Sunday to address their strained trade relations, including key issues like the looming divestiture deadline for Chinese short video app TikTok. The discussions also focused on Washington’s demands that its allies impose tariffs on China over its purchases of Russian oil. Amid these talks, Chinese officials responded to the tariff threat from former President Trump, who recently urged NATO to impose 100% duties on Beijing.
