United youngster still pushing for exit despite failed deadline-day move, four shock options have surfaced – report

Manchester United starlet Sam Mather could still leave the club, despite his proposed deadline day move to Turkey collapsing.

Mather fails to get desired Turkey switch

Over the summer transfer window, Mather pushed for a move away from United in pursuit of a switch to one of Europe’s top five leagues. United were reportedly open to facilitating his departure, but a deal ultimately failed to materialise.

The Turkish Super Lig then emerged as a potential transfer destination for Mather, who is eager for regular first-team football as he seeks to finally kickstart his career.

United held talks with Kayserispor and there was optimism that an agreement between the two sides would be found.

However, on Friday’s Turkish deadline day, Mather’s proposed switch to Kayserispor fell through.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United pulled the plug on the transfer as they felt there was enough time to complete it.

Talks were advanced, with key elements of the move such as fee and buy-back clause agreed. Mather had also accepted the personal terms that Kayserispor offered.

But, according to the BBC, there is still a chance that Mather will depart Old Trafford even after the close of the Turkish transfer window.

Mather still pushing to leave United

BBC reveal about the winger, “He is keen to play senior football and his representatives are continuing to explore options.”

“Serbia and Israel are the only two Uefa-registered countries where players can still move but the transfer windows in both the United Arab Emirates and Qatar remain open.”

It’s still uncertain whether Serbia, Israel, the UAE or Qatar would attract Mather, but his determination to secure regular first-team football could ultimately see him give the go-ahead.

At the moment, he is still playing for United in Premier League 2.
