Three bitter rivals set for vicious battle to sign €70m United ace, he already knows where he wants to go – report

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro’s dream transfer destination has been named as Flamengo, Palmeiras and Sao Paulo eye him ahead of next summer.

Casemiro set to leave United in a year

Casemiro has entered the final year of his United contract, and with no extension on the horizon, a parting of ways looks inevitable.

Across recent transfer windows, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have sought to sell Casemiro and get his massive wages off the club’s books, but the veteran midfielder has stood firm on remaining at Old Trafford. The Saudi Pro League has often been tipped as Casemiro’s next destination, but a move has never come to fruition.

Earlier this month, the reliable Fabrizio Romano revealed that Casemiro is almost certainly guaranteed to be a free agent next summer.

Now, Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola has revealed that Flamengo, Palmeiras and Sao Paulo are all plotting to move in for Casemiro, although he is believed to favour a particular move.

Flamengo, Palmeiras and Sao Paulo eyeing Casemiro

According to Nicola [via BolaVip], Casemiro’s name is “buzzing” around Brazilian football and plans are already underway to snap him up as soon as he becomes available.

“Flamengo and Palmeiras have already made inquiries to understand the situation of the Manchester United midfielder, who is expected to end his stint with the English club after the 2026 World Cup.”

“Flamengo is among the most attentive clubs, as the midfielder fits the profile sought by the football department: leadership, international experience, and decision-making ability in big matches. Furthermore, the Flamengo board has a history of investing in renowned athletes who arrive to raise the squad’s competitive level.”

However, Casemiro would prefer to seal a switch to Sao Paulo, due to the emotional attachment he has to the side.

Casemiro joined Sao Paulo’s youth academy and advanced through the ranks, going on to make his senior debut in July 2010.

He turned out 50 times for Sao Paulo.

Nicola added, “Casemiro has never hidden his gratitude to São Paulo, which could influence a future decision.”

But, no matter who wins the race for Casemiro, fitting his wages into their system will be key, meaning he may be forced to lower his demands.

Saudi clubs are also keeping tabs on the situation, so it’s not a foregone conclusion that he will return to his native Brazil.
