Nine Inch Nails have shared the first single from their upcoming soundtrack to upcoming sci-fi film Tron: Ares, as well as the album’s artwork and tracklist. “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” is both a ripper and a banger, gritty yet gleaming electro with a big chorus of “Give me something to believe in!” Watch the lyric video, and check out the soundtrack’s artwork and tracklist, below.
“As Alive As You Need Me To Be” is also featured in the new trailer for Tron: Ares which dropped today as well. As opposed to the teaser trailer from earlier this year, we get a good look here at what this sequel is gonna be like. Watch the trailer below.
While Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed the scores to many films over the 20 years, this is their first that’s credited to Nine Inch Nails.
Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges. Here’s the synopsis: “Tron: Ares follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”
Nine Inch Nails’ Tron:Ares soundtrack is out September 19, ahead of the film’s release on October 10. The band start the North American leg of their Peel It Back arena tour on August 6 in Oakland, and it hits Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on September 2 and 3.
