Migrant Channel crossings set the tone for Starmer-Macron summit

New measures to curb migrant crossings are expected to emerge from talks during a state visit to the United Kingdom by French President Emmanuel Macron starting Tuesday, as the rising number of migrants crossing the English Channel remains a major challenge for both countries. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has vowed to “take back control” of Britain’s borders.
