In a July 2 Instagram post, Janet and Jason shared a carousel of photos capturing a dreamy day in Lucerne. The images included shots of the family watching the sunset together, hiking through the breathtaking Swiss Alps, and even taking a cable car ride. Little Cameron was pictured giggling on a sled and taking in the views on foot alongside his parents. The couple captioned the post, “Showing our baby the world,” punctuated with a red heart emoji, reflecting the joy and excitement of introducing their son to international travel.

Making the Most of Swiss Sights — and Snacks

Just a few days later, on July 5, Janet and Jason continued to document their getaway, posting a compilation of photos that showed the family soaking up even more of Switzerland’s charm. In one snapshot, the family of three was seen wading into mountain-top pools described as “in the clouds,” creating a whimsical and serene vibe.

Other pictures highlighted sweet treats and casual comforts, as the Capernas enjoyed classic Swiss chocolate, gooey fondue, and even made a fun stop at a McDonald’s.

The Valley star has been grappling with a surge of online hate as the Bravo spin-off series aired its second season. The show, which follows five married couples navigating life in West Hollywood, has been at the center of heated online discussion, and Janet has found herself at the forefront of criticism.

On a July 2 episode of her podcast, This Side of the Hill, which she co-hosts with Jared Lipscomb, Janet candidly addressed why she made the decision to set her social media accounts to private.

“It’s gotten so dark and bad almost on a daily basis of threats and slurs and things that now I decided to make all of my social media completely private and being very cautious about what I share, especially about my family,” Janet said during the podcast episode.

She continued, explaining her decision to step back from interacting with strangers online. “It makes me want to hide or not interact with strangers,” she added, acknowledging the emotional toll the negativity has taken.

Drawing the Line Between Criticism and Threats

Despite the backlash, Janet made it clear that she values constructive feedback from viewers about her actions on The Valley. However, she said recent messages have crossed a serious line.

Janet shared that she regularly receives “hundreds” of insults as part of her public life, but the latest wave has included threats to her life and her family, as well as racial slurs.

“It’s gotten so dark and bad almost on a daily basis of threats and slurs,” she reiterated on her podcast. She noted that the level of vitriol has gone far beyond the typical online trolling public figures might expect.

She also took a stand against viewers using hate speech or violence in response to a reality TV show, stating firmly, “If you’re feeling so bothered by (The Valley) that you’re using racial slurs and threatening people, reality TV is not for you.”

A Focus on Family

Despite these challenges, Janet has chosen to redirect her energy into her family. The recent Switzerland posts not only highlight a once-in-a-lifetime trip but also serve as a reminder of what matters most to her: creating joyful memories with her husband and son.

While her personal social media accounts remain private, joint posts with Jason are still publicly visible, allowing fans to follow along with select moments of their journey.
