United superstar turns down lucrative summer move after receiving lifeline thanks to 24/25 heroics – report

There has been uncertainty regarding the future of Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, who has been linked with a summer exit, but that might no longer be the case.

Al-Nassr have been long-term admirers of the defensive midfielder, and as per a previous report relayed by The Peoples Person, they were in advanced negotiations to sign the 33-year-old.

But following his comeback into the Brazil national team under Carlo Ancelotti, the former Real Madrid superstar no longer wants to leave Old Trafford.

As per The Mirror, the Brazilian feels staying at Manchester United will serve his goal of making the team for next year’s World Cup the best.

Casemiro does not want to leave

“Big-earning Brazilian midfielder Casemiro is set to stay at Manchester United next season after being offered a World Cup lifeline by Carlo Ancelotti.

“Casemiro was handed a shock recall by his country when his former Real Madrid boss named his first Brazil squad earlier this month.

“And with the 33-year-old now targeting the finals in Canada, Mexico and the United States next summer, he believes his chances of playing in a third World Cup will be enhanced by staying in the Premier League.”

The Brazil international has a contract with the Red Devils until 2026 with the club having the option of triggering a one-year extension if needed.

INEOS have been eager to trim an already-bloated wage bill, and the five-time Champions League winner was earmarked for a sale due to his enormous £350,000 gross per week wages (via capology).

He has Amorim’s full backing

He did not make a single appearance for almost a month following Ruben Amorim’s arrival, but his hard work off the pitch and professionalism on it impressed the 40-year-old and he was eventually recalled to the first team.

And the midfielder did not disappoint, especially in Europe, guiding his club to the Europa League final last season. The player himself was so impressed that he termed last season as his personal best.

But given the lack of European football, there were rumours that United were ready to cut their losses, but that does not seem likely at this stage.

Casemiro does not want to leave, and with Amorim’s support now fully behind him, INEOS will have no choice but to keep him onboard.

Hopefully, Amorim can use him sparingly and smartly next season, which will allow the veteran to shine in the big games. Who knows, if he keeps his form up, the contract extension might even be triggered.
