The Sex Pistols are touring again with Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock joined by lead vocalist Frank Carter (Gallows, Pure Love, Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes) in place of Johnny Rotten, and yesterday they played Norway’s Tons of Rock festival. Green Day were headlining that day of the festival, and Billie Joe Armstrong took the opportunity to join the Pistols for “Anarchy in the U.K.” Say what you will about this current Sex Pistols lineup (John Lydon sure isn’t happy about it), but this was a genuinely awesome moment and you could tell that Billie Joe was stoked to be part of it. Check out fan-shot video below.
This is the second time this year that Billie Joe joined one of his influences on stage at a festival that Green Day were headlining; he did the same with The Go-Go’s at Coachella.
Green Day and the Sex Pistols will also both be at Riot Fest this year. Will it happen again in Chicago?
