United now know the price for Harry Maguire 2.0 as INEOS weigh up smart investment – report

Figures have now emerged surrounding a potential Yann Bisseck exit from Inter Milan, and all eyes are on Manchester United.

Although not currently a transfer priority, a defensive addition should not be ruled out by United.

Right-footed centre-backs Victor Lindelöf and Jonny Evans departed the club this summer, leaving a notable gap.

Amorim needs more centre-backs

Their exits have created a void in United’s defence, and with Rúben Amorim’s back-three system reliant on centre-backs, it would be a misstep not to bring in at least one replacement to bolster squad depth.

A right-sided centre-back would be a logical acquisition.

Notably, Bisseck has been operating on the right side of Inter Milan’s back three and remains strongly linked with United.

Persistent Bisseck links

In May, the 24-year-old was touted as a strong candidate to strengthen Amorim’s defence.

Not long after, following reports of United’s interest, Inter were said to be open to offering him in a swap deal for Rasmus Højlund.

Although that speculation fizzled out, fresh developments have reignited United’s interest in the defender.

According to Express Germany, the in-demand Bisseck has a release clause in the region of €60 million to €70 million (around £51 million to £60 million).

The report adds that United view this as a worthwhile investment for the future.

Bisseck seen as Maguire’s heir

Within United’s hierarchy, the Serie A defender is regarded as a potential long-term successor to 32-year-old Harry Maguire, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

While Bisseck is not actively pushing to leave Inter, the Italian club appears tempted by the idea of cashing in on a player they signed for just €7 million (£5.9 million). The German publication emphasises that there is a 50 per cent chance he will depart this summer.

United are not alone in tracking him; Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton are also monitoring the situation.

That said, as United weigh up a move for the former FC Aarhus defender, they will hope incoming Inter boss Cristian Chivu is not opposed to the transfer.
