We’ve been looking forward to the follow-up Cardi B‘s fantastic 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy for a while now, and seven years later, she’s finally announced her second album. Am I the Drama? is due out on September 19 via Atlantic. The tracklist is still to be announced, but her 2020 collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion “WAP”, 2021’s “Up,” and last week’s “Outside” are all listed on Spotify as on the album, and that’s the cover art below.
Cardi teased the announcement on social media on Sunday with a video where she says, “Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, life, and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I learned power is not given — it’s taken. I’m shedding feathers and no more tears. I’m not back, I’m beyond. I’m not your villain, I’m your karma. The time is here. The time is now,” adding, “I got an announcement to make.”
Cardi is on the lineup for night 1 of NYC’s LadyLand on Friday (6/27) at Under the K Bridge, which seems to be her only upcoming show at the moment.
