Sir Alex gets sweet revenge on INEOS for dumping him by beating them at their own game – report

Manchester United’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s success keeps growing as his company, ACF Sports Promotion, turned a profit last year of £2.7 million.

Ferguson spent 27 glorious years at Old Trafford where he won everything and turned the club into England’s most successful team.

Since his departure in 2013, United have never been the same. The Scot has still been involved at board level, however.

The club’s owners, Ineos, hit the headlines last year when they ended the former manager’s ambassadorial contract in order to bolster finances.

Former players Eric Cantona and Rio Ferdinand were both vocal in their criticism of the move. What’s more, many fans also failed to understand the treatment of one of the most important figures in the club’s storied past.

The Times report that Ferguson does not seem to have let this affect him though. They state, “there appears to be no stopping Sir Alex Ferguson’s financial success, with the personal company set up by the 83-year-old when he was manager of Aberdeen recording a £2.7 million profit last year.”

The company, ACF Sports Promotion, now has assets of £26.9 million, up from £24.2 million the previous year.

The article explains that “ACF Sports Promotion is the vehicle that handles Ferguson’s speaking appointments and book deals, and any other commercial activities.”

Sir Alex stepped down as the director of the company in 2024 and it is now in the hands of his son, Mark.

In addition, the company is thought “to possess an extensive £2 million memorabilia collection” that lends items to different museums.

Ferguson has also continued to profit from winning in the sports arena through his other great sporting passion, horse-racing.

The former United manager won big on Grand National Day in April this year. During the Grade 1 Maghull Novices’ Chase, one of his horses finished first and another third, as he netted “just over £80,000 in prize money from one race.”
