Watch Miley Cyrus join Beyoncé in France for first ‘II Most Wanted’ performance together

Miley Cyrus has performed ‘II Most Wanted’ with Beyoncé for the first time ever – check out fan-shot footage of moment below.

Last night (June 19), Beyoncé brought her ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour to the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France.

31 tracks into her performance, Beyoncé surprised the French audience by bringing Miley Cyrus onstage to perform their collaboration together. “I’m so excited because I wanted to do something very special for you guys,” Beyoncé said.

“I could not do it without this young lady’s help, so I want you to scream as loud as you can. I wan’t y’all for this icon,” she continued as Miley Cyrus rose up from beneath the stage. “I’m your biggest fan. I’m so grateful to watch you, to sing with you, Miss Miley Cyrus.”

After giving each other a kiss on the cheek, the pair dove into their 2024 collaboration – check out footage of the performance below.

While Beyoncé has performed ‘II Most Wanted’ at her previous shows, this performance marked the first time she was joined by Cyrus for the country-tinged duet.

Speaking to W Magazine last year, Cyrus revealed how the collaboration came together: “I wrote that song, like, two and a half years ago. My mom would always go, ‘I love that song so much.’ So when Beyoncé reached out to me about music, I thought of it right away because it really encompasses our relationship.”

She continued: “I told [Beyoncé], ‘We don’t have to get country; we are country. We’ve been country.’ I said, ‘You know, between you being from Texas and me being from Tennessee, so much of us is going to be in this song.’ Getting to write a song, not just sing, for Beyoncé was a dream come true.’”

‘Cowboy Carter’ finally earned Beyoncé her long-overdue Grammy for Album of the Year in February – she also became the first Black woman to win the Grammy for Best Country Album.

As for Miley Cyrus, she recently released her latest album, ‘Something Beautiful’, which scored her a four-star review from NME‘s Nick Levine: “Featuring 13 tracks that unfurl over 53 minutes, ‘Something Beautiful’ is sprawling and apparently unperturbed by contemporary chart trends.

“It’s difficult to think of a Spotify playlist that might accommodate ‘Reborn’, which sounds a bit like an Andrew Lloyd Webber show tune written on mild hallucinogens. So while ‘Something Beautiful’ probably isn’t Cyrus’s most hit-packed album, it does feel like a fully realised artistic statement. This post-genre pop star has pulled off another pretty big swing.”
