“They appear to…”: Ex-United insider drops bold transfer truth to PL star craving Old Trafford move

Like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, Brighton and Hove Albion left-back Pervis Estupinan reportedly dreams of a move to Old Trafford.

When reports first surfaced of Manchester United’s interest in signing the Ecuador international, few took them seriously.

With Harry Amass emerging, Luke Shaw likely to stay, and hopes that Patrick Dorgu will continue developing, there is no urgency in signing a left-back.

Nonetheless, former Old Trafford insider Mick Brown, who previously served as Brighton’s chief scout, has dropped a bombshell via Football Insider regarding Estupiñán’s future.

Estupinan wants Man United

Brown claims the 27-year-old has made it clear he wants a fresh start away from the American Express Stadium.

Interestingly, while his entourage are offering him to various clubs, Brown insists the defender has his heart set on joining United.

“Estupinan is looking to move away from Brighton,” Brown revealed. “It’s a strange situation at Brighton—they’re widely praised for their recruitment, yet several players are eager to leave.

“His agent has been making his availability known to multiple clubs, but from what I hear, he wants to join Manchester United.”

United not prioritising a left-back signing

While this preference should be a boost for INEOS, Brown suggests the transfer is unlikely to materialise:

“I think he’s a decent player, but I don’t think left-back is going to be a priority for them. Luke Shaw is now fully fit, and they’re hopeful he can stay that way. They bought Dorgu in January, and they’ve got Harry Amass coming through as well.

“Their priorities lie at centre-forward and in midfield, so I don’t expect them to move for Estupiñán. He’s a player they previously wanted, and I’m sure he still has admirers, but unfortunately for him, they appear to have moved on.

Blessed with excellent speed, agility, stamina, and defensive awareness, Estupinan could have been an asset at both ends of the pitch for head coach Ruben Amorim.

However, his transfer is not considered a priority.

It is unfortunate for the South American that he may not realise his Old Trafford dream, but for United fans, this situation is yet another example of the club’s enduring pull.

United still holds immense appeal, and if INEOS makes the right calls in the transfer market, Amorim could soon have a squad primed to reclaim Premier League supremacy.
